Geraldine Walsh: The Art of Mindful Painting

InnLyte Studio Series with Geraldine Walsh

In the very first Seed Episode of the InnLyte Studio Series, Kilkenny-based oil painter Geraldine Walsh invites us into her studio shop. She shares how the desire to create has always been ‘part of who I am,’ whether working in the garden or challenging herself to paint en plein air. We explore how her practice—inspired by the vast beauty of the Irish landscape and the drama of shifting light—is an anchor that shapes her daily life and nurtures her wellbeing.

What I like most about painting is that it's something I can just completely lose myself in. It's a full mindfulness experience in that no matter what is going on in my life, it's all forgotten, and I just concentrate on that painting.
